21+3
21+3 takes your first two cards and the dealer's upcard and scores them as a three-card poker hand. A flush, a straight, three of a kind or a straight flush wins; anything else loses. It is settled before the hand is played and has no bearing on it.
The name is the arithmetic: the blackjack hand plus three cards. Some providers sell the same bet as Trilux.
What Wins
The original bet paid a flat 9:1 on any qualifying hand. Almost nothing uses that now, and the tiered tables differ enough between providers that the same bet can cost you half as much on one table as another.
The House Edge
It depends on the pay table and the shoe. IGT's common table runs about 4.14% on six decks; Evolution's live version about 3.62%. Flat-paying and older tables are worse, and the figure improves with more decks — 8.78% on four decks against 7.14% on six on one schedule.
Published ranges of 3.2% to 6.2% across the market are realistic. Either way it is several times the cost of the hand it sits beside.
