Live Blackjack
Live blackjack is the same game as the one on the blackjack hub, dealt from a shoe by a person, with a rule set chosen by the studio rather than the casino. Three rules are nearly universal at live tables and rare at RNG ones: eight decks rather than six, no hole card, so the dealer's second card arrives only once every player has acted, and a single split rather than a resplit to four hands. Each of those costs the player something, and the table below prices the combination by solving the full shoe under each rule set.
Everything about how to play the hand, the basic strategy chart, the price of every deviation and the counting arithmetic, is on the blackjack hub and is not repeated here. This page is about what the live format changes and what the studios add to it.

The Live Rule Set Against the RNG Table
Each row is solved exactly on a full shoe with the player following the best strategy for that rule set. The live row costs 0.20 points more than the RNG row; the table's own rules panel says which row a given table is.
The Three Rules That Travel With the Studio
No hole card is the rule a card reader imposes: the shoe scans each card as it is drawn, and the dealer's second card is simply not drawn until the players are done. The cost depends on what happens to a doubled or split bet when the dealer then turns a blackjack. At most studios every bet on the box is lost, which is the common live row; where only the original bet is taken, the edge falls by 0.11 points to 0.49%. The rules panel states which, and it is the single most valuable line in it.
Eight decks against six costs 0.03 points on its own, and a single split against a resplit to four hands costs 0.05. Neither changes a decision in basic strategy; both change the price of the same decisions. A table that adds late surrender gives back 0.09 points, and one whose dealer hits soft 17 takes 0.21 more. Shuffle depth matters too: a live shoe is usually cut around the middle, which is what makes counting at a live table less productive than the depth of a land shoe would allow.
Seat Formats
A standard live table has seven seats and Bet Behind, which lets any number of players back a seated player's hand without controlling it. A player betting behind inherits the seat holder's decisions, so the price of the bet is the price of that player's play, not of basic strategy; backing a seat that stands on 16 against a 10 is paying for a mistake. Infinite tables remove the seat limit: every player receives the same two cards and plays them independently, with the dealer's hand shared, and the studios use the format to bring minimums down. Evolution's Infinite Blackjack adds a Six Card Charlie, an automatic win for a six-card hand of 21 or under, and Any Pair, 21+3, Hot 3 and Bust It as side bets. Pragmatic Play's ONE Blackjack is the same idea with one seat, a window of 16 seconds and side bets of its own.
Lightning Blackjack is a different product: a 100% fee on every bet buys a multiplier of 2x, 5x, 8x, 10x, 15x, 20x or 25x on a winning score, held for the next round. The fee doubles the stake and the multiplier distribution is drawn by software, so the game is a blackjack hand attached to a lottery and is not priced here. Free Bet Blackjack gives free doubles on hard 9, 10 and 11 and free splits on every pair but tens, paid for by a dealer 22 that pushes every standing hand; the Free Bet variant page prices that trade.
Side Bets on an Eight-Deck Shoe
Probabilities are counted from the eight-deck shoe the live tables use. What each outcome pays, and so what the bet costs, is in the table's own pay table and differs by studio; the side bets page prices the common schedules.
Strategy, Honestly
Basic strategy at a live table is the chart for its rule set, which is the eight-deck no-hole-card chart on the blackjack hub, and the only live-specific adjustment is to doubling and splitting against an ace or a ten when every bet is lost to a dealer blackjack: the chart already prices that, and a player who follows it has nothing further to do. The betting window is short, often ten to fifteen seconds, and a decision taken by the timer rather than the player is the costliest habit the format has.
Counting is possible, since the shoe is physical and the cards are seen, but a cut near the middle of eight decks leaves little to count, and a bet spread wide enough to profit from it is visible to the studio. Nothing here changes the arithmetic of the card counting guide; the live format simply offers less of it.
Live Blackjack FAQ
A larger shoe means fewer shuffles an hour, and a shuffle at a live table is dead time with a dealer on the clock. Eight decks cost the player about 0.03 points against six.
Nothing in itself when a dealer blackjack takes only the first wager. Where it also takes the doubled and split money, the usual studio rule, the price is about 0.11 points, and the rules panel says which applies.
The common hand is a format, not a rule change; the price is the table's rule set as usual. The Six Card Charlie it adds is worth a little to the player.
Only behind a seat that plays basic strategy. The bet inherits every decision the seat holder makes.
The cards are real and visible, but the shoe is usually cut around its halfway point, which leaves too little depth for a count to pay.
